Memorial services for Mr. Tommie Eugene Byrd, age 79, will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Evants officiating. Mr. Byrd passed away peacefully on July 30, 2021, at his home in Jackson, TN. He was born on February 18, 1942, in Gibson County, TN to the late Craig Byrd and Leona Barr Byrd. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dorothy Carneal, Mary Wilson, Regina Chamberlain; brother, Bill Byrd; grandson, Kristopher Newcomb. Mr. Byrd is survived by his wife, Angelika Byrd; sons, Tommy Byrd of Jackson, TN, Anthony King and wife Theresa of Jackson, TN; daughters, Dawn Byrd Newcomb and husband Eric of Dover, AR, Tracy Byrd Simpson and husband David of Russellville, AR, Melissa King Cook and husband Stewart of Leesburg, GA, Jennifer King Greer and husband Justin of Jackson, TN; brothers, Danny Byrd, Terry Byrd, Chuck Byrd, Gary Byrd; sisters, Lorene Holland, Brenda Baugh, Barb Borgia, Pansy Dovich; 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 2:00 on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at Lawrence-Sorenson Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be held at 1:00, prior to the service. Everyone is invited to join the family at 4:00 following the formal service, for a light-hearted Celebration of Life at Woodland Hills Golf Course to honor Tom's memory. The family would like to thank everyone who has shown them love and support, specifically these past few months. They have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love.
