Thomas "Tommy" Edwin Hollingsworth

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas “Tommy” Edwin Hollingsworth, age 89, will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Edmanson officiating. Interment will follow in Bethal Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 12-1 pm before the service.

Mr. Hollingsworth was born January 22, 1935 in Mt. Herman, Oklahoma, to mother Cleo Pauline Ginter and Lee Ginter. His mother passed away and his father was gone from his life so his Grandma and Grandpa Hollingsworth took him, adopted Tommy and changed his name to Hollingsworth. He attended school and graduated 12th grade at Battiest, Oklahoma.

Tommy traveled around living part of the time with his grandma's sister, Aunt Mae Johnson and her 12 children where he hunted deer to help feed the family. 

Tommy watched a man build a stone fireplace and when the man asked him to build another one, Tommy agreed and found out he loved that work. He gathered a crew of men and worked over 45 years as a very good and sought after stone mason. His work was put on the face of the city map of Brentwood, Tennessee. He finished bigger jobs in and around Nashville, Brentwood, and Franklin, Tennessee before meeting Margaret Vestal and presenting her with a beautiful red rose. She asked Tommy if that was the end of the bouquet. He brought her two dozen red roses that Sunday. Tommy and Margaret had 21 great years together and January 17, 2025, 5 days before Tommy's 90 Birthday, she lost him when he went to live in Heaven. Go Rest High on that Mountain, Tommy!
