Terry Lynn Bishop

Terry Lynn Bishop, 51, of Mansfield, Ohio and Jackson, Tennessee, passed away Monday December 20, 2021 at Ohio State University Hospital following a brief illness. A Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday December 28, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Peoples Chapel, 110 Grove Ave. Jackson, TN 38301. Interment will follow at Ridgecrest Cemetery. Terry was born on October 18, 1970 to John and Christine Bishop. He received his education in the Jackson Madison County School System earning his GED and then attending college at Jackson State Community College. As a child, Terry’s great grandparents took him to church at Bemis Pentecostal Church, which were memories he loved to discuss and share. As a teenager Terry got in with the wrong crowd but in his early 20’s he found the Lord, and this was something he would share with everyone. Terry had a love for his Lord and a faith that the bible speaks of. He truly never had an unkind word to say about anyone, to anyone, or about anything. He was just always so thankful. Terry decided in 2005 to take up a new hobby, running. He ran many races and worked his way up to being an Ultra Marathon/100-mile racer. His favorite part of training for races was to be able to meet new people and ask them if they knew the Lord. He loved his Run It Fast family, and always talked about his friend and mentor Joshua Holmes. Terry worked hard to provide for his family and meet their needs. After working for Kroger for 25 years, he retired in November of 2020 to follow the calling God placed on his life to move to Mansfield, Ohio, where he was currently employed by Schwebel’s Bread Company. He loved his family and his church family so very much, but he was especially proud of his boys and treated his wife as a queen. To know Terry was to know the love of Christ in human form and he will be greatly missed. Terry is survived by his wife of 23 years, Heather Butler Bishop, their sons Zackary Bishop and Nathaniel Bishop, his son Terry Lynn Bishop, Jr., his mother Christine Bishop, sisters Teresa Graddy, Linda (Richard) Dilbeck, brother-in-law Joe Stockton, nephews John Stockton, Kevin (Kacey) Stockton, niece Christa Kay Dilbeck, step mom Mary Bishop, host of “adopted” kids/nieces/nephews, and his best friend who was more like his brother, Daniel Baer. Terry was preceded in death by his twins Michael and Madison Bishop at 25 weeks gestation, his father John Bishop, and his sister Diane Stockton. The family will receive friends at Peoples Chapel on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm.
