Shirley Mae Kern Spencer

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Mae Kern Spencer, age 81, will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, July 23, 2018, at Parkburg Baptist Church with Bro. Danny Rachel officiating. Interment will follow at Parkburg Cemetery. Mrs. Spencer passed away Friday, July 20, 2018, in Jackson, Tennessee. She was born October 13, 1936, in Bemis, Tennessee to the late Fred and Jewel Cole Kern. She was a member of Parkburg Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Fred Kern and Travis Kern; sister, Mageline Holland; grandson, Big Nic Spencer. Surviving relatives include her husband of 63 years, Marion Spencer; daughters, Chris Ellison (Freddie), Diane Skelton, Cheryl Stanfill (Rudy), Donna Newman (Jimmy), Pam "Connie" Bond, Angie Garner (Shawn) and Brooke Garner; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105. Visitation for Mrs. Spencer will be held Sunday, July 22, 2018, 5-8 pm at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home and Monday, July 23, 2018, 1-2 pm at Parkburg Baptist Church. Pallbearers for the services will be Jason Ellison, Tommy Ellison, Jonathan Stanfill, Bradley Newman, Eric Spencer, Shawn Garner, Kaleb Garner and Corey Bassett.
