Mrs. Rosalina Conscepcion Salyers passed away on Monday, February 20,2023 in Jackson, TN at the age of 81. She was born on September 22,1941, in Bulacan, Philippines, to the late Pablo and Connie Tumbaga. Mrs. Salyers is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. Tim Salyers; brothers, Armando Conscepcion and Roy Tumbaga; sisters, Prosy Cunignig, and Rosie Tumbaga Griffin. Mrs. Salyers is survived by her sisters, Ida Tumbaga, Jackson, TN; Haydee Walters (David); Washington state; Daisy Tumbaga Rarama (Pasculal), Hawaii; and brothers, Paul Tumbaga (Nina), Washington state; and Allen Tumbaga (Delia), of Hawaii; along with many nieces and nephews. Rosalina was commissioned as a Deaconess in the United Methodist Church. She served in many capacities including serving as the Superintendent of Knox School Inc. in Manilla, Philippians as well as a beloved teacher at the Forest Heights Pre School here in Jackson. She held a Master's Degree in Administration and Supervision from the Christian University of Manilla and completed her doctoral studies in Early Childhood Education at Vanderbilt University. Mrs. Salyers was an active member of Forest Heights United Methodist Church. She served in leadership roles in The United Methodist Women both on the local and Conference levels. More than anything else, Rosalina was a compassionated person who never met a stranger. Her deep faith in Jesus Christ anchored her during times of trouble and times of joy. She had a close relationship with her sister, Ida, with whom she shared a home. Whenever you saw Rosalina, Ida would be standing next to her, hand in hand. Rosalina was a tiny woman (standing only 4’7”) with a HUGE heart. She will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held at Forest Heights United Methodist Church,863 W Forest Ave, on Sunday, March 5th. Visitation will be at 2 PM with the memorial service beginning at 3 PM.
