Roger H. Jones

Roger Harris Jones passed away at home on July 15, 2018, after a courageous battle against COPD. Roger is survived by his wife of 23 years, Patty Burke Jones. He is also survived by his daughter, Celina Jones of Spanish Fort, AL, his daughter, Meleah Johnston (Joey) of Nashville, TN; son, Harrison Brodell Jones II (Audrey) of Jackson, TN. Roger leaves five precious grandchildren, Rowan Knipper, Evey and Mary Bradley Johnston, and Brody and Addy June Jones. Roger also leaves behind his five sisters and two brothers, Alyce Hardee, Glenda Weir, Linda Long, Donna Berkley (JP), Teresa Wade (Paul), Lawrence Jones (Edna), and Stanley Jones (Frances) all of Jackson, TN. He is preceded in death by a son, Harrison Brodell Jones I; his parents, Teddy and Grace Jones; a sister, Barbara Jones Hinton. Roger was a member of Ararat Baptist Church, he served in the US Army, and spent his working career in commercial construction. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July, 17 2018, at Ararat Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on the same day from 9:30 to 10:30 at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home. Pallbearers to serve are Harrison Jones, Harley Jones, Dan Crittenden, Kenny Adkins, Keith Hardee, Kacey Burke, Zach Berkley, and Brixton Haynes Miller.
