Ricky Lynn Wylie

Funeral services for Ricky Lynn Wylie, age 65, will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020, beginning at 2:00 PM at New Union Baptist Church, with Bro. Gerald Smith and Bro. Anthony Vaughn officiating. Mr. Wylie died peacefully at home on November 1, 2020 surrounded by his family. Mr. Wylie was retired from TDOT after thirty-three years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman as well. He was also a member of the Gospel Quartet "Called Out" and witnessed many lives saved. Mr. Wylie was born on December 8, 1954, to his late parents Joe Brown Wylie, and Eleanor McDonald Wylie. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his in laws, Melvin and Doris Collins, and sister Barbara Stockton. Mr. Wylie is survived by his wife, Johnnie McGuffin Wylie; daughter, Melissa Dickerson (Brad); sister, Betty Ross (Danny); sisters-in-law, Kathy Kail, and Laura Conquest; brother-in-law, Bobby McGuffin; grandchildren, Kayla Dickerson, Colby Dickerson; and his beloved dog, Lexi Lou. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 5-7 PM at Lawrence Sorensen Funeral Home and from 12-2 PM on Friday at New Union Baptist Church. Pallbearers for the service will be Colby Dickerson, Jerry Zeigler, Byron Blackmon, Danny Richardson, Ron Goff, and Frankie Walker. Honorary pallbearer will be Jeremy Yarber.
