At sunrise on Sunday October 17, 2021, in Bells, Peggy Allen, with her daughter by her bedside, passed from this life to the life ever after. Peggy Sue was born on October 4, 1937, in Harrisburg, Illinois, the daughter of Marie and Eugene Weatherly. Peggy was a devoted wife and a loving mother. She had a passion for sailing, traveling, good dining, and she was quite an impressionist painter. Peggy had lived in Jackson and the surrounding area since 1980. Peggy’s parents preceded her in death along with her husband James Fredrick Allen, her son James Steven Allen, her sister Jo Ann Bartley, and her brother Bob Weatherly. Peggy is survived by her daughter Beth James (Benton), her brother David Weatherly (Neva), her granddaughter Amy Flinn, her great-grandson Gavin Lynch, her grandson Will James, along with many nieces and nephews. Peggy’s family will have a private service to honor and to remember her. The family encourages anyone wishing to honor Peggy to please donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
