Jimmy Glenn Pettigrew

Jimmy Glenn Pettigrew, born on June 13, 1948, was the son of the late Ray and Rauline Pettigrew and brother of Randy Pettigrew, Ruth Harris, and Steve Pettigrew of Jackson, TN. Jimmy graduated from Jackson High School and Union University. Jimmy married Cacky Wilkins Pettigrew July 12, 1969. They are the parents of four children, Yancey, Jennifer, Andy, and Ray Pettigrew along with 13 grandchildren. Jimmy was a faithful member of Cornerstone Community Church. Jimmys profession includes an extensive list of jobs during his lifetime but primarily in retail management and the service industry including painting, lawncare, and small engine repair. However, his passion was traveling, along with his wife, on church related mission projects to use his skills in building church buildings, orphanages, and meeting physical needs of people. Jimmy Pettigrew was a great man. Over the past couple of days, the amount of people that shared that statement is truly remarkable. He loved to golf. He was a great bowler. He had a genuine faith and expressed it often through caring for others and displaying Gods love literally around the world. He cared for and loved the underdog and made it look easy. He was a great son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Perhaps his greatest legacy was his deliberate and constant care of Cacky Pettigrew. He served tirelessly and his hard work ethic was evident in everything that he did. He died in his home peacefully and unexpectedly early Monday morning, November 30, 2020.
