Herman Maurice Rhodes

Funeral services for Mr. Herman Maurice Rhodes, age 70, will be held at 11:00 am Monday, January 28, 2019, in the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Creasy officating. Burial will be held at the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Parkers Crossroads, 693 Wildersville Road, Parkers Crossroads, Tennessee 38388. Mr. Rhodes passed away January 25, 2019, at the Veterans Hospital in Memphis, TN. He was born October 28, 1948, in Jackson, Tennessee to Severn and Vivah Neal Rhodes. He was preceded in death by his father, Severn Maurice Rhodes. Surviving relatives include his mother, Vivah Neal Tyson; children, Herman "Rowdy" Rhodes (Misty), Robert Rhodes, Rita Rene Rhodes, and their mother, Betty Darnell; children, Denise Rhodes, Denisha Rhodes, and their mother, Thera Travis; sisters, Nina Robertson (Jeb), Judy Rhodes, Jeannie Woods (Shawn), and Ina Carter (Tony); seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the funeral bill. Visitation for Mr. Rhodes will be held Sunday, January 27, 2019, 4-7 pm at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home.
