George Rogers Roger Smith

Mr. George Rogers "Roger" Smith, age 93, passed away December 28, 2018, in Jackson, Tennessee. He was born December 21, 1925, in Winnfield, LA to the late Louis Houston and Ruth Waller Smith. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ella Jeanette Walsworth Smith. He served in the United States Air Force and a WWII Veteran. He was a self-employed mechanical engineer and went to LSU. He was a Deacon at Covenant Baptist Church. Surviving relatives include his daughters, Cydnie Ellen Harris (Raymond), Janet Elese Neely (George), and Joan Kimberly Eckardt (Bill); seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The National WWII Museum, 945 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70130. The family would like to give a special thank you to Maplewood Healthcare Center for such love, support, and care. The family will have a private service.
