Evelyn Campbell Manning

Evelyn Campbell Manning of Mercer, TN, age 86, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019, peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends. She was born on June, 24, 1932. She was the youngest child of ten children born to W.R. and Lela Pace Campbell in Centerville, TN. She lived a very full life helping others and taking care of her family. She was a graduate of Mercer High School and played basketball in High School. She was a wonderful cook and loved to feed everyone who came to her house. She is remembered by many for her Popcorn Balls that she made and handed out on Halloween. She was preceded in death by her husband James A. Manning and her daughter Vicki Manning Birdwell. She is survived by her daughter Sharon West (Glenn) and her son Gary Manning of Mercer; grandsons Jason C. Rankin (Mary Beth) of Jackson, Shane R. West (Sarah) of Virginia, and Chris A. Rankin (Candice) of Jackson. She was blessed with 11 great grandchildren: Anna, Jason Jr., Ava, and Colton Rankin of Jackson; Isabella Grace and Lincoln Asher of Richmond, Virginia; Haden and Emma Rankin of Jackson; and Madison, Hailey, and Brooklyn Lyle of Jackson. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of love to Evelyn Manning over the last few years as she has been declining in health. We will lay her to rest on her birthday, June 24, 2019. Services will be held at Lawrence - Sorenson Funeral Home with Pastor Carl White officiating. Visitation will be from 11-1 p.m., and the service will be 1 p.m. Internment will follow at Brownsville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers for the service will be Jason Rankin, Jason Rankin Jr., Shane West, Chris Rankin, Haden Rankin, and Joe Ferguson.
