Doris Evelyn Thompson

Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Evelyn Thompson, age 82, will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, August 17, 2018, in the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Bro. Robert "Opie" Dodrill officiating. Interment will follow at the Beech Bluff Cemetery. Mrs. Thompson passed away August 13, 2018, in Jackson, Tennessee. She was born October 19, 1935, in Jackson, Tennessee to the late James and Velma Crews Wallace. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Terry William Thompson and Gary Glen Thompson. Surviving relatives include her husband of 66 years, Grady William Thompson; son, Jeff Thompson; daughters, Shelia Laslie (Robert), Cindy Carroll, and Donna McKinney (Roger); sister, LaVerne Alexander; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers for the service will be Josh Thompson, Brandon Thompson, Will Thompson, Bobby Laslie, Chris Laslie, Cody McKinney, Jason James, and Daniel Carroll. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Visitation for Mrs. Thompson will be held Friday, August 17, 2018, 12 pm 2 pm at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home.
