Danny Joe Wright, Sr.

Mr. Danny Joe Wright, Sr., age 72, passed away December 12, 2018, in Jackson, Tennessee. He was born November 1, 1946, in Jackson, Tennessee to the late Chalma Stovall Wright and Mary Sue Neely. He grew up in the Madison Hall community, attended J.B. Young Elementary School. Danny played baseball on Madison Hall baseball team. He graduated from South Side High School in 1966 and was drafted into the US Army, where he proudly served his country, including a tour of duty along the DMZ in South Korea 1967-1968. Danny was employed by Owen Corning Fiberglass for 18 years, Madison County Highway Department for 11 years retiring in 2001. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and drinking coffee with his buddies at Food Giant after he retired. Surviving relatives include his wife of 35 years, Wanda Young Wright; daughter, Melissa Wright Grantham; son, Joey Wright; grandson, Steven Grantham, all of Jackson, TN; brothers, Neal Wright, Jr. (Charlotte), Larry Wright (Diane) and Roy Wright (Sherry). Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 15, 2018, in the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, December 14, 2018, 4-8 pm at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Highland Memorial.
