Conchata Springfield Rowe, born April 8, 1983 to her mother, Joanne Calhoun and father, Cecil Springfield, has passed away on Sunday, January 7th. Conchata is survived by many loved ones, including her mother, her sister, LaTonia Manuel, her brother, Vernon Springfield, her nieces and nephews: Tevin, Devin, and Marissa Manuel; Vernon Jr., Amyiah, and Mattie Springfield, and her husband, Brendan Rowe, 34, of California.
Conchata was a radiant presence in the lives of so many and finding love for her was effortless. She worked tirelessly to express the love she had for those close to her, and was fond of dancing and singing when the whim took her. She challenged herself constantly to master new skills, whether it was her cheesecakes or beef wellington, or her paper and clay jewelry, or her nail art. She meticulously took to craft to find joy and express herself, and she held a winning record that lasted for a decade against her husband in air hockey and Scrabble.
So much joy was found in the life she shared with her husband and the adventures they had in their time together, which took her from the waterfalls of Iceland to the steppes of Turkey and so many places foreign and ancient, and she has left the weight of so much memory to be cherished in her absence.
"All goes onward and outward, nothing collapses,
And to die is different from what any one supposed, and luckier" (from Leaves of Grass, by Walt Whitman)
Memorial services for Mrs. Rowe will be held from 12pm-2pm Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home.
