Mrs. Celesitne F Ramsaur was born June 7, 1925, in London, Kentucky to Hubert Fields and Mary Warner Fields. Graduate of London High School. Upon graduation at Sue Bennett College, she moved to Cincinnati where she worked for Gibson Art Supply, Wurlitzer Music, RL Polk, and modeled for department stores. She met her future husband Carl Ramsaur while working in Lumberton, NC where they lived until moving to Rocky Mount and later Greenville, NC. In 1963, Celestine, Carl and their two sons moved to Jackson, Tennessee when Carl was hired as the first sales service supervisor at American Olean Tile. As the children grew up, Celestine went back to work at Williams and Forbes Orthodontists and later at the Memphis Conference of the United Methodist Church office based on the campus of then Lambuth College. In addition to enjoying the Jackson Women’s Club, she belonged to various contract bridge groups. Pastimes included being with her backyard birds and following sports. Travel took her to several locales throughout the US and foreign countries. Mrs. Ramsaur was predeceased by her husband, Carl Hamilton Ramsaur; her siblings, Jewel Freeman, Eula Fields, Gerene Stevens, Gladola Barton, and Hubert Fields, Jr. She is survived by sons, Allan and Hamilton (Ham); nephews, Bill Moody and Doug Fields; niece, Karen Wolfe; grandchildren, Jacob, Kate, Taylor, Jill and Ben; great grandchildren, Jacob Ryan, Maddie and Harper; great-great grandchild, Penelope. In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to be made to Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice. Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, March 10, 5 pm-7 pm, at Lawrence- Sorensen Funeral Home. Graveside Service Friday, March 11, 10 am at Hollywood Cemetery with Rev. Robert Conder officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
