Graveside funeral services for Mr. Carlos Lee Castleman, a lifetime resident of Jackson, TN. will take place Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Ridgecrest Cemetery in Jackson, TN. at 11 a.m. Mr. Castleman passed away Friday July, 10, 2020 at Bells Nursing Home with his daughter Jennifer Castleman Donaldson by his side, from the effects of Dementia and Alzheimer's. A lifelong Christian and a member of West Jackson Baptist Church, he is with peace celebrating eternal life with friends and family and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born August 26, 1937 in Jackson, TN. to Don Moore Castleman and Ruth Fisher Castleman, and was a lifetime resident of Jackson TN., graduating from Jackson High School in 1955. He was born to work, taking his first job at a local grocery store at age 11, and was a longtime employee of SM Lawrence where he worked as a welder, then he got a job at Consolidated Aluminum as a roll grinder until his retirement in 1999. It should also be noted that he spent time in his late teens and early 20's as an amateur dirt stock car racer, taking home many checkered flags during his time behind the wheel. In addition, Mr. Castleman was a Veteran of the Army National Guard of Tennessee and Army Reservist from 1954-1962. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his wife Elizabeth Ann Castleman, a sister Susan Bailey of Lubbock, TX., and a sister Rosemarie Davis of Amarillo, TX. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Brian) Donaldson of Medina, TN.; his son Donnie (Sonja) Castleman of Las Vegas, NV.; his 5 grandchildren, Dylan Donaldson, Adam Castleman, Amanda Castleman, Aiden Castleman, and Ashton Castleman; numerous nieces and nephews; and many lifelong friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, and thanks you for your kind thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
