Grady W Thompson, Jr.

Funeral service for Mr. Grady William Thompson, Jr., age 93, will be held at 12 pm Monday, September 18, 2023, at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Bro. Opie Dodrill officiating. Interment will follow in Beech Bluff Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 11 am-12 pm before the service. In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Mr. Thompson passed away on September 14, 2023, at his home in Beech Bluff. He was born on July 29, 1930, in Madison Couty to the late Grady William Thompson and Bessie Hunt Thompson. Grady was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris Evelyn Thompson; brothers, Terry William Thompson and Gary Glynn Thompson.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his son, Jeffery Grady Thompson; daughters, Shelia Ann Laslie (Robert), Cindy Carroll; sisters Barbara Dodd, Katherine DeLoach; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
