Betty C Nanney

Mrs. Betty Cummings Nanney, age 90, passed away on February 23, 2022, at Maplewood Health Care in Jackson, TN. She was born on November 1, 1931, in Oakfield, TN to the late William A. Cummings and Frances Barnett Cummings. Mrs. Nanney is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Nanney; son Douglas Gene Nanney; brother, James Cummings. Mrs. Nanney is survived by her daughter, Beth Rogers (Phil); sister Nancy Fleming (Will) of Carterville, IL; grandchildren, William Douglas Goforth, Samuel Thomas-Gene Rogers, Anna Frances Rogers; niece, Susan Hoyle of Herrin, IL, and nephew, Scott Moore of Kansas City, KS . Mrs. Nanney was retired after 20 years by the City of Jackson, Department of Education as a secretary/bookkeeper at Jackson Central-Merry High School. Prior to this, she worked eight years at Forest Heights United Methodist Church. She also worked five years at South Central Bell in the Engineering Department, and two years for the Department of the Army, Fort Jackson, SC. Mrs. Nanney was a member of Forest Heights UMC since 1958 and was a member of the Bogard Dunn Sunday School class. The family of Mrs. Nanney will hold a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Madison County Sheriff Association, Youth Town or a charity of your choice.
